Old fire station in Jurgów last Sunday's afternoon (29 Jun 2008) was teeming with life. Exhibition of old Jurgów's pictures was opened there. Exhibition was opened by Mr Józef Górka councilman of Bukowina Tatrzańska Commune Council. One of the first visitors of the exhibition was priest of Jurgów's parish rector Józef Marek. Many of Jurgów's inhabitants was enjoying exhibition all of them were watching old pictures with interest. Older people were trying to recognize themselves or their parents, younger was watching how Jurgów look likes severals dozens years ago. For a youngest it was very difficult to imagine that there was no asphalt road in our village.
Pictures for exhibition were collected for several years and finally this year it was possible to show part of them on exhibition. Hopefully exhibition will motivate people to share other pictures from their private archives. There is around 120 pictures which you can see are the most curious pictures and pictures which was possible to scan and prepare for exhibition with good quality. Total number of pictures which were collected is more than 1000 pictures.

Pictures on exhibition are describing very rich and complicated history of Jurgów. You can see on a pictures Jurgów's brass band which is playing in Bratislava (Slovakia), participants of "Gazdinskeho kurzu", carving's school, old Jurgów's inn and many other interesting pictures.
